Consumed

by Hope Eckert

artist Reception:
Thursday, October 2, 2025
from 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Artist Statement:

consumed is a developing collection of illustrative paintings riddled with the Eckert’s visual language: lively characters and text. These works externalize the artist’s anxieties and curiosities about the modern American existence, examining themes including – but not limited to – communication, consumerism, capitalism, consciousness, and societal constructs. Symbology embedded withing these visuals attests to how the artist sees, synthesizes, & digests the world around her (or, alternatively, how it consumes her; the issues of class, economic turmoil, womanhood, violence, technology, privacy, and health that she faces). consumed, then, attests to Eckert’s identity and the nationalistic social landscape she occupies.

This exhibit is FREE, and the public is encouraged to attend.

This exhibit will be on display until October 31, 2025.
