Our Sacred Space Yoga is a sanctuary for self-exploration, healing, genuine connection, and community. Our mission is to provide authentic yoga classes and workshops as well as a supportive environment to assist students in cultivating physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Each class will encompass a complete system of yoga, including philosophy, lifestyle practices, and techniques, that is designed for transformation of the body, mind, and Soul. Our space is located in the heart of downtown Hartsville, SC, on the second floor of Black Creek Arts Center. We welcome all levels of yoga practitioners, from novice to experienced; we have something to offer everyone. The most challenging part of practicing yoga is just showing up!

Class Description:

Lots of options and modifications for all levels of yoga practitioners! This class focuses on linking breath and mindful movement with deep exploration of the mind and body. Beginners will have the space to familiarize themselves with the practice, while more advanced practitioners will be able to find ways to challenge themselves and build strength.

A slower paced, alignment-based yoga class geared toward a beginner student, but suitable for intermediate students who want to refine their yoga practice. Classic yoga poses will be presented with emphasis on correct alignment and precise actions in the body. All levels, especially beginners, welcomed.

Philosophy Flow
Do you want to deepen your understanding of yoga as a philosophical and spiritual practice? Linking breath with mindful movement, this class will firmly ground you in the present moment in order to create a sacred space for contemplation of deeper philosophical passages from ancient spiritual texts, such as The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, The Bhagavad Gita, and The Dhammapada. All levels welcomed.

Power Yoga
An emPOWERing practice designed to build internal heat, increase stamina, strengthen, and gain flexibility, as well as reduce tension and stress. Each week, students’ will learn a new posture and/or other yogic techniques to empower their personal practice. Practitioners are encouraged to find their own edge and work at their own pace. Lots of options and modification will be given. Not intended for absolute beginners or those who are recovering from illness or injury.

Tap into the healing powers of Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, and Restorative Yoga, a deeply relaxing form of yoga that offers passive stretching with props, such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, and eye pillows. The ultimate goal is to find healing within and divine union between the body, mind, and spirit. Light, non-invasive touch will be utilized by the teacher to help promote relaxation and healing.
All-Levels celebrated. Perfect for those with limited mobility and/or recovering from illness.

Strength Flow
A dynamic, vigorous, fitness-based, vinyasa flow inspired by the Ashtanga yoga tradition. This challenging class will utilize linking creative sequences & pranayama to focus on building strength, self-awareness, flexibility and balance within body, mind, and spirit. Room is heated to 85 degrees to help build heat – so come prepared to sweat with intention. A strength flow class is challenging, but modifications are available for beginners.

Yin Yoga
Release tightness and relax into a state of stillness and bliss. Yin yoga is a deep stretching practice that targets the fascia and other connective tissue around the muscles. Restorative, passive poses are typically held from 2-5 minutes; the longer holds of yin yoga allow for connective tissues to release tension and revive mobility. All levels welcome.

Yoga for Anxiety
Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. This gentle yoga class is designed to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and teach stress management techniques to manage daily struggles. Postures, breathing, and guided meditation included. Not intended to replace proper medical and/or psychiatric care. Perfect for beginners.
