 Our Sacred Space Yoga

Our Sacred Space Yoga is a sanctuary for self-exploration, healing, lightheartedness, and community. Our mission is to provide quality yoga classes and workshops as well as a supportive environment to assist students in cultivating physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Our space is located in the heart of downtown Hartsville, SC, 2nd floor of Black Creek Arts Center. We welcome all levels of yoga practitioners, from novice to experienced; we have something to offer everyone. The most challenging part of practicing yoga is just showing up!

Class Description:

Basics: 
A slower paced, alignment based yoga class geared toward a beginner student, but suitable for intermediate students who want to refine their yoga practice. Classic yoga poses will be presented with emphasis on correct alignment and precise actions in the body. All levels, especially beginners, welcomed. 
60-minutes

Gentle Flow:
Slow down and exhale in a gentle sequence of movements designed to increase flexibility, develop strength, and relieve stress and tension in the body and mind. All levels, especially beginners are welcome.

Kid's YogArt
Yoga isn't just for adults! This fun, interactive class will help in teaching kids applicable yoga philosophy within the modalities of music, storytelling, fun movement, and arts and crafts. Having children involved in the practice of yoga is incredibly beneficial! The benefits include, but are not limited to, developing body awareness, managing stress and anger, building confidence and improving upon concentration and positive self-image. For kids aged 4-10.

Philosophy Flow:
Do you want to deepen your understanding of yoga as a philosophical and spiritual practice? Linking breath with mindful movement, this class will firmly ground you in the present moment in order to create a sacred space for contemplation of deeper philosophical passages from ancient spiritual texts, such as The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, The Bhagavad Gita, and The Dhammapada.  All levels welcomed.  
75-minutes

Strength Flow: 
A dynamic and vigorous, fitness based, vinyasa flow inspired by the Ashtanga yoga tradition. This challenging class will utilize linking creative sequences & pranayama to focus on building strength, self awareness, flexibility and balance within body, mind, and spirit. Room is heated to 85 degrees to help build heat – so come prepared to sweat with intention. A strength flow class is challenging, but modifications are available for beginners.

Sparkle Flow
Sparkle Flow is a feel-good power class that works the mind and body, while also guiding the practitioner to find their inner shimmer, sparkle, and brilliance. This class is perfect for anyone interested in getting in a workout, boosting their confidence, and opening the heart.

Sunrise Flow
Greet the day with some time on the yoga mat! Linking breath with mindful movement, this slow flow yoga class will get you ready for your day.

Yin Yoga
Release tightness and relax into a state of stillness and bliss. Yin yoga is a deep stretching practice that targets the fascia and other connective tissue around the muscles. Restorative, passive poses are typically held from 2-5 minutes; the longer holds of yin yoga allow for connective tissues to release tension and revive mobility.  All levels welcome.

Yoga for Anxiety
Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. This gentle yoga class is designed to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and teach stress management techniques to manage daily struggles. Postures, breathing, and guided meditation included. Not intended to replace proper medical and/or psychiatric care. Perfect for beginners.
