Our History

Housed in a historic former community center, Black Creek Arts Council has served as a cultural cornerstone in Hartsville for over 50 years. What began as a small community arts initiative has grown into a countywide organization supporting artists, educators, and creative placemaking across Darlington County.

Through evolving programs, partnerships, and public art initiatives, Black Creek Arts Council continues to adapt to meet the community's changing needs while remaining grounded in the belief that the arts belong to everyone.
