No Signal
Featuring Devann Donovan
& Brittany Freeman
Artist Reception
Thursday, October 1, 2026 | 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Black Creek Arts Council is pleased to present No Signal, a collaborative exhibition by artists Devann Donovan and Brittany Freeman.
In a world filled with constant notifications, endless scrolling, and glowing screens, No Signal explores the ways technology shapes our memories, emotions, and sense of self. Through painting, textiles, and mixed-media works, Donovan and Freeman examine how screens can serve as both a refuge from reality and a reflection of it.
Drawing from childhood television, pop culture, and personal memory, Devann Donovan transforms familiar images and experiences into tactile works that blur the line between nostalgia and reality. Her textile-based pieces invite viewers to consider how memories are shaped, altered, and reimagined over time.
Brittany Freeman's paintings focus on quiet moments of solitude illuminated by the glow of technology. Through vibrant color and expressive brushwork, she explores the ways people seek comfort, connection, and emotional refuge in an increasingly digital world.
Together, their work creates a thoughtful conversation about modern life—how we escape, how we connect, and how we navigate our inner worlds in an age of constant information.
No Signal invites viewers to pause, reflect, and consider their own relationship with the screens that have become such a central part of everyday life.
Join us for an evening with the artists and experience this timely and thought-provoking exhibition.
